Order terms and conditions for event registrations of the IPF Dresden

General terms and conditions

By registering for an event organized by the IPF, the customer accepts the following general terms and conditions:

1. Provider

The provider of these General Terms and Conditions is:

2. Scope of application

These General Terms and Conditions apply to all legal transactions between the provider and a customer.

3. Conclusion of contract and storage of contract text

These terms apply to orders placed by customers via the website www.ipfdd.myshopify.com, the online store of the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden e.V. (IPF).

The contract is concluded with the provider (see § 1).

The presentation and description of the offerings on www.ipfdd.myshopify.com do not constitute a binding contract offer.

By clicking the "Register with payment" button at the end of the ordering process, the customer submits a binding offer to enter into a purchase contract. The contract is only concluded when the provider sends an order confirmation via email.

For payment via providers such as PayPal or Sofortüberweisung, customers are redirected to the respective provider’s website. After entering the necessary data, they are redirected back to our shop.

The contract text is stored for orders. Customers receive an email with their order details and the applicable terms and conditions. After the contract is concluded, the order details are no longer accessible online.

4. Prices and payment

All prices include statutory VAT and any other price components. Shipping costs are not included in the displayed price and may be charged additionally.

5. Delivery and registration confirmation

Delivery or confirmation of registration – unless otherwise stated in the product description – occurs within 7 business days.

In the case of payment via bank transfer or PayPal, this period begins the day after the payment order is issued.

6. Directions

Access to the event venue and parking is at your own risk. Please follow the instructions of the security staff. Use of public transportation is recommended.

7. Event access

Registration grants single-time access to the event listed in the registration confirmation. Security checks may be conducted at the entrance. The security staff may be instructed to perform body searches. The organizer reserves the right to deny access for good reason (with ticket refund).

8. House rules

The house rules of the IPF or the respective venue, as well as any instructions by the security personnel, must be followed. In the event of violations, the organizer may expel the attendee from the event.

9. Prohibition of recording

Audio, film, and video recordings – even for private use – are strictly prohibited on IPF premises and, where applicable, at the event venue.

10. Event cancellation or rescheduling

Events may be altered, rescheduled, or canceled. Please check our website regularly and before your trip for updates.

11. Exchange/Refund

Cancellations of confirmed registrations are generally not permitted. Exceptions apply if an event is canceled or rescheduled at short notice. In such cases, cancellations can be requested via the contact form on the IPF website.

If the event is relocated within a reasonable distance, registrations remain valid. There is no entitlement to attend at a specific venue.

If the event is canceled, interrupted, or rescheduled due to circumstances beyond the organizer's control (e.g., force majeure), the right to withdraw from the contract is excluded.

In case of cancellation or interruption, the organizer will reschedule the event if and when possible. Registrations remain valid for the rescheduled date.

12. Liability

We are fully liable for damage to life or health, as well as in cases of intent or gross negligence. This also applies in cases of fraudulent concealment of defects and other statutory provisions.

If essential contractual obligations are breached, the liability of the online shop is limited to foreseeable and contract-typical damage in cases of slight negligence.

In the case of non-essential contractual obligations, liability for slight negligence is excluded.

No liability is assumed for continuous availability of the website or the listed events.

The provider has no influence over the design, length, or content of the event. Feedback is welcome via the “Contact” page.

The provider is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Please register only via this website.

13. Warranty

Statutory warranty regulations apply.

14. Applicable law

German law applies. The provisions of the UN Sales Convention do not apply.

Place of performance and jurisdiction is Dresden.

15. Contract language and storage of contract text

The contract language is English.

We do not store the full contract text. Customers may save it electronically using their browser’s print function before submitting the order.

16. Final provisions

If any provision of this agreement is or becomes wholly or partially invalid or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.

Invalid or non-included provisions shall be replaced by the statutory regulation (§ 306 para. 2 BGB).

Otherwise, the parties will replace the invalid provision with one that comes as close as possible to its economic intent, unless supplementary interpretation of the contract takes precedence.
